Saving Honey Bees

One Bit at a Time

Honey bees are responsible for pollinating some of our favorite fruits and vegetables. Their pollination is estimated to contribute $15 billion/year to American food production1

From 2015 to 2016, Beekeepers lost 44% of their honey bees2. Even more startling is beekeepers are losing more bees during the summer, which is unprecedented. This results in losses for beekeepers and farmers.

WE ARE DEVELOPING A HEALTHCARE SYSTEM FOR HONEYBEES

SMART BEEHIVE

Combining our expertise in design, engineering, biology and technology, we have developed and deployed a network of smart beehives.

Our smart hives give us insights into the health of the colonies we manage every fifteen minutes. We are learning more about the health of honeybees and our environment every day.

HIVE HEALTH UPDATES

We can track different hive metrics and gain insight into what is going on inside the colony. This technology, coupled with behavioral observations, allow us a deeper understanding of what goes on inside the honey bee hive.
